Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.
Come join HII!! Where Hard Stuff is Done Right!HII Unmanned Systems (HII UxS) is seeking an Systems engineer for its programs. As an Systems engineer on a UUV program, you will be part of an interdisciplinary approach to a variety of efforts relating to the technical planning of the integration and test effort, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, reapir, and maintability for autonomous underwater vessels. This person will work closely with the project team to transfer product definitions into verifiable requirements and specifications that result in a robot designed for manufacturing, cost, and customer satisfaction, and works closely with the Operations team to validate system performance.
What you will be doing...Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
What we are looking for...- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance #LI-MH1
Bonus Points for..- Experience operating unmanned underwater vehicles
- Experience troublshooting unmanned underwater vehicles
- Experience developing detailed test reports
- Experience developing techincal test procedures
- Expreience performing post mission analysis on unmanned vehicles

Physical RequirementsOffice, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving heavy materials may be required.
