Title:
Systems / Network Administrator

Job Summary:
KBR is looking for an advanced Systems/Network Administrator, with an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility that can work independently with little to no day-to-day supervision. This position requires travel to other Marine Corps installations in Parris Island SC, Albany GA, and Blount Island FL. The candidate will have a strong IT and networking background. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, and adaptable to a fast-paced exciting environment. This position requires 30% travel in-state and out-of-state and is 100% on-site. No telecommuting.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Proactively maintain and support existing IT infrastructure to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Install, configure, update, and manage servers, desktop clients, zero clients, network devices, Active Directory, Group Policies, and firewalls.
  • Administer and support core Microsoft, SQL Server, Cisco, and VMware technologies.
  • Produce, manage, and maintain system backups to ensure data availability and recovery.
  • Implement security fixes, operating system patches, and antivirus software/definition updates across multiple closed and standalone networks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventories of hardware, software, firmware, and applications.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, technical documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure continued system operability through ongoing optimization, monitoring, and problem resolution.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex IT systems and infrastructure issues.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex technical issues, both in person and remotely, including assistance to non-technical personnel.
  • Implement and enforce Department of Defense (DoD) security policies, standards, and directives.
  • Analyze system risks and vulnerabilities and take corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate identified threats.
  • Collaborate effectively with Marine Corps Physical Security personnel in a law enforcement environment.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure while responding to high-pressure or stressful situations.
  • Work effectively in a variety of environments, including indoor facilities, outdoor locations, telecommunications closets, and secure operational settings.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational, security, and operational requirements while supporting mission-critical systems.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related work experience; or
  • DoD/military technical training/certification and 6 years of related work experience; or
  • In lieu of a degree or DoD training, 15 years of related work experience.
  • Certifications: IAT Level II
  • Certifications Required within (6) months of hire:
  • Microsoft Server/Windows Certifications
  • CISCO OS/IOS Training/Certification
  • Clearance Required: Candidates with an Active Secret clearance can be considered, and they must have the ability to obtain the Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.


Travel Required:
  • 30% travel in-state and out-of-state.
