Mission Voice Communications System Analyst

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL, Redstone Arsenal

JOB STATUS: Full-time

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Analyst (Basic) supporting the Missile Defense Agency's Director of Test (DT) Test Resources Team (DTR) at the Von Braun Complex on the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Astrion is at the forefront of new missile defense technologies and supports the MDA's rigorous operational and developmental testing. This exciting, rewarding work helps guarantee the security of the United States and our Allies. Join a professional team of highly qualified engineers, analysts, scientists, and technicians supporting the Mission Voice Communications (MVC) Asset Manager, providing technical assistance and management of the voice communications system supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA) flight test events.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS in a related field. 5 years of experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree requirement
  • No direct experience required
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance

  • Experience working in a fast paced, professional environment with the ability to adjust/react to short notice requirements changes, deadlines, changing schedules, competing priorities, and unpredictable events
  • Proficient with Windows-based PC software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams)


RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected candidate will translate operational needs in program documentation. They will support MDA MVC by gathering requirements for functional system configuration/design and work with a team to validate that documented requirements are met. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a broad level of experience.

Duties will include:

  • Perform various activities including developing SE procedures and processes, requirements management, configuration management, tracking metrics, risk management, technical review, developing and reviewing SE plans, documentation, and other contractor deliverables
  • Perform work that applies industry standard best practices, IT-related performance measures and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or, fielding and sustaining of IT/software systems
  • Conduct system reviews to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications
  • Prepare technical documentation and briefings that define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics
  • Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of analysis principles
  • Perform validation of software systems including development of analyses/evaluation criteria and procedures, analyses/evaluation of results, and related recommendations
  • Provide technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives including but not limited to acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operational oversight
  • Provide analyst support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities
  • Provide annual and project-level budgetary/financial support to include preparing and tracking RFAs, IGCEs, and POM requests
