You will partner closely with business users to understand processes, translate needs into application and data requirements, deliver enhancements and keep critical tools stable and secure. This role blends firsthand development and data work with business analysis and process improvement and is ideal for someone eager to grow across the full application lifecycle.

This role will be posted until at least June 6, 2026.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Facilitate requirements workshops, map current vs. future state processes and maintain user stories/use cases
  • Create clear documentation (functional specs, user guides) and communicate changes to stakeholders

Application Development & Integration
  • Implement small features and bug fixes in C#/.NET (or comparable languages such as Python/Java), following coding standards and code review practices
  • Write simple automation/scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline routine tasks and deployments

Database (SQL) Development
  • Write reliable SQL for queries, views and stored procedures; perform basic performance troubleshooting (e.g., indexing basics, query plan review with guidance)
  • Support routine schema updates and data corrections in coordination with DBAs and change control

Legacy Microsoft Access/VBA Support

  • Resolve common DAO/ADO/ODBC issues and ensure stable connections to data sources
  • Manage front-end updates/versioning and assist users with issues and training
  • Contribute to modernization efforts (e.g., migrate Access back-ends to SQL Server/Azure SQL; rebuild or replace front-end applications in .NET or Power Platform)

Reporting & Data Enablement
  • Build and maintain operational reports and datasets in Excel and/or Power BI (basic DAX/Power Query); SSRS experience a plus
  • Help ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports and integrations

Operations & Software Development Life Cycle
  • Provide Tier 2 application and data support; triage incidents, resolve root causes and document fixes
  • Follow change management and release processes; maintain runbooks and knowledge base articles

Security & Compliance
  • Apply secure coding practices, protect sensitive data and adhere to organizational policies and approvals
  • Participate in access reviews and basic audit/compliance activities as required

Qualifications

    • Application development in C#/.NET (Framework or .NET 6/7/8) or a comparable language, with a willingness to learn .NET where needed
    • Firsthand experience with support/enhancements for Microsoft Access/VBA solutions (forms, queries, macros/modules)
    • Basic integration skills: REST APIs; ODBC/OLE DB connectivity
    • Use of Git and task management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira or similar)
    • Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills; comfort working directly with business users

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience migrating Access back-ends to SQL Server/Azure SQL and/or replacing Access UIs with .NET or Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Reporting/BI exposure: Power BI (DAX/Power Query) or SSRS
