The Systems Administrator role is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite in the RTP office. The Systems Administrator will support and maintain a complex lab environment while assisting with server, network, and security administration activities. An ideal candidate for the Systems Administrator role is a versatile IT professional with broad infrastructure experience and a strong foundation across systems, networking, and cybersecurity technologies.
Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator:
• Support and maintain lab infrastructure including servers, networking equipment, and security technologies.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure lab environment availability.
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments, including patching, upgrades, and system maintenance.
• Support network operations including routing, switching, firewall management, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Assist with security initiatives including access controls, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
Qualifications of the Systems Administrator:
• 3+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience supporting servers, networks, and security technologies.
• Experience administering Windows and/or Linux server environments in an enterprise setting.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, identity and access management, and vulnerability management.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to support complex lab and testing environments.
Compensation for the Systems Administrator includes:
• Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
