JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEvaluates system specifications, installs enterprise computer systems, configures systems, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility and maintains workstations and server systems focusing on the Operating system and the network.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
- Perform the daily operational support on the computer Operating Systems, including Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to ensure system security, access, configuration, backups and restore
- Knowledge of VxRail hyper converged infrastructure, including deployment, implementation, and manages virtualization infrastructure using VMware, including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN for optimal performance, scalability and high availability
- Establish network requirements, monitors local area network (LAN) performance, troubleshoots networking hardware and ensures system is working properly according to specifications and parameters, utilizing advanced networking protocols and technologies
- Organize and secure directory structure and assists/trains staff members in the use of department Document Management (DM) Systems, associated databases and Configuration Management (CM)/ DM release procedures
- Design hardware requirements and provides Computer Authorization and custodial receipt listings to track equipment configurations and identification logs
- Serve as point of contact (POC) for problem reporting, incremental version updates and monitors yearly support contracts, ensuring timely resolution of issues and optimal system performance
- Make recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements, schedules, plans, perform system upgrades including the transition from design, test, production and documentation environments
- Provide operational status as required, utilizing established reporting frameworks and metrics
- Use established policies, procedures, and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity performed under minimum supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution
- Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems using advanced troubleshooting techniques and tools
- Manage and administer storage solutions including Network-Attached Storage, Storage Area Network (NAS/SAN) systems while maintaining optimal performance, capacity, and data protection
- Research, integrate, or place new technologies into the existing data center with seamless integration and minimal disruption to existing systems and services
- Develop and implement security protocols and procedures, aligned with Security+ best practices, to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational data systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborates with other teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives, providing technical expertise and guidance as required
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies, applying knowledge to continuously improve system administration practices and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex system logs and identify potential issues.
- Apply cybersecurity knowledge and system hardening practices in support of daily system administration activities, including vulnerability awareness, access control, patching, audit readiness, and compliance with established security policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide technical guidance, share knowledge with team members, support task coordination, and contribute to process improvement efforts while operating as a senior technical resource within the system administration team.
- Experience working with SQL databases or database backed applications, including the ability to query, review, troubleshoot, or support data used by mission specific systems.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Candidate must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security + Certification within 6 months.
- Prior experience working in or supporting a Department of Defense environment, military installation, government contractor setting, or similar mission focused organization.
- Experience working with proprietary, specialized, or mission specific systems used to collect, manage, process, or report data, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, tools, and technical environments
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCEA bachelor's degree in associated discipline from an accredited academic institution or equivalent experience through technical training, completion of a recognized certification program, or experience. Requires at least nine (9) years of experience in computer system related areas of expertise and must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.
In addition, a Systems Administrator IV must possess the following qualifications:
- Must have specific experience in the maintenance of Operating Systems and support applications, in a centralized and distributed server environment
- Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
SALARYThe expected salary range for this position is $103,000 to $150,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONSThis position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
