Job DescriptionPosition OverviewFusion Innovation is seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator to support critical web infrastructure and production systems. This role combines Linux systems administration, AWS cloud engineering, database support, and web application development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable maintaining secure production environments while also contributing to the applications and services operating within those environments.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, monitor, and maintain Linux-based servers and production systems.
- Perform system patching, configuration management, maintenance, and hardening.
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure AWS environments.
- Monitor system availability, capacity, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot server, application, database, and network-related issues.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and system administration tools.
- Support the deployment and operation of web applications and content management systems.
- Develop or enhance web applications using object-oriented programming languages.
- Assist with database administration, SQL queries, and application integrations.
- Implement technical controls and configuration standards consistent with security requirements.
- Maintain system documentation, operating procedures, and configuration records.
- Collaborate with developers and other technical personnel to support application releases and infrastructure improvements.
Required Skills- Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related
- 5+ years of systems administration experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 5+ years of systems administration experience.
- Experience performing Linux server maintenance, patching, configuration management, and system hardening.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining production-grade AWS environments.
- Five or more years of experience with an object-oriented programming language; PHP experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational database management systems.
- Experience with MySQL is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills.
Desired Skills- Experience developing or maintaining websites using the Joomla content management system.
- Experience supporting high-availability or mission-critical web environments.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools.
- Knowledge of cloud security, access management, monitoring, and backup practices.
- Experience supporting PHP- and MySQL-based production applications.
Additional DetailsFusion Innovation anticipates the annual base salary for this position will generally range from $100,000 to $215,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
- Years of direct applicable experience with this work and the customer
- Relevant education, certifications, and training
- Contract labor category requirements, skill level, contract bill rate, and hours allocation
- Alignment with the position's responsibilities
- Additional specialized skills
