Overview

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving operational efficiency through automation, and delivering an exceptional end-user experience across Windows and macOS environments.

The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with strong scripting skills, experience managing Microsoft cloud technologies, and a passion for continuously improving IT operations through automation and standardization.

This is a fully remote position. Candidates located in the Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia (DMV) area are preferred to allow for occasional onsite collaboration when needed.

What you will do

  • Engineer, deploy, and manage Windows and macOS endpoint environments.
  • Develop automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain scripts using PowerShell and Python to automate provisioning, administration, reporting, and integrations.
  • Manage Microsoft Intune policies, device compliance, application deployment, and endpoint security.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related cloud services.
  • Maintain and optimize Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms to proactively manage endpoint health.
  • Build and maintain documentation, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, and Help Desk teams to improve reliability, compliance, and user experience.
  • Participate in infrastructure improvement projects and recommend new technologies and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex endpoint, identity, and cloud platform issues.

What you need to have

  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar infrastructure role.
  • Strong experience managing both Windows and macOS enterprise environments.
  • Networking Experience: Managing Routing, Switching, VLANs, Firewalls.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Working knowledge of Python for automation and systems integration.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with endpoint lifecycle management including deployment, patching, compliance, and software distribution.
  • Experience administering or supporting Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and modern identity management.
  • Experience documenting technical processes and operational procedures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.

What we'd like you to have

  • Experience administering Linux servers or Linux endpoints.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Government Contracting (GovCon) environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, or FedRAMP.
  • Networking experience including routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall concepts.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other IT Service Management platforms.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools and APIs.
  • Experience working in Azure or other cloud infrastructure platforms.
