ResponsibilitiesPeraton is hiring a Systems Administrator to support critical missions within its Risk Decision Group.
This role focuses on maintaining, securing, and optimizing on‑prem enterprise environments while laying the groundwork for cloud modernization. Responsibilities include ensuring reliable daily operations, improving identity and directory services (Active Directory and Entra ID), and planning phased migrations of legacy workloads into secure, scalable Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS architectures.
This is a 100% Remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, secure, and optimize Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability and compliance with organizational standards.
- Lead and support cloud migration initiatives, to both SAS and with a focus on transitioning legacy and on‑premises SAS platforms into modern cloud architectures.
- Develops and enriches the product portfolio of cloud services and value-added services.
- Maintain detailed documentation, contribute to governance frameworks, and provide technical guidance to stakeholders throughout cloud modernization efforts.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design migration roadmaps, assess readiness, and develop integration strategies for hybrid and cloud-native solutions.
- Performs operations and maintenance of secure managed platform solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance issues, applying automation and best practices to streamline operations.
- Assist in the managing and support of enterprise Office 365 suite, including Azure AD, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Purview, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
- Administer policies, monitor system performance, and ensure security best practices (DOD STIGS).
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD (Experience considered in lieu of degree.)
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a T5/SSBI federally adjudicated clearance
- Experience administering an OnPrem Windows Environment
- Good Knowledge of Windows Active Directory
- Experience in AWS/Azure
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation tools
- Experience with containerization (Docker,Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security, and cloud cost optimization
- Proven ability to independently take ownership of projects and drive them to completion with minimal oversight
- Strong “self-starter” capably
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, Powershell)
- Ability to take on projects and drive them to completion
- Demonstrate ability to collaborate effectively in a team envrionmnet and consistently be a dependable, supportive teammate
- Effective communicator capable of tailoring presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred:
- 10 + years Administering a Windows Server/Active Directory Environment
- Cloud or MS certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator or similar)
Target Salary Range$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
