System Specialist, you will perform project start-up, checkout and troubleshooting tasks for systems installed jobs. This position has the responsibility of providing guidance to contractors and direction to subcontractors. You will act as the external liaison working with customers and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This is a field position typically working at commercial, industrial, and institutional construction sites/occupied facilities.
We are seeking proven experience working with Building Automation Systems ie. configuring, coding, and troubleshooting BAS systems and BACNet required for all our projects!
Responsibilities:Commissioning, Startup & Technical Execution - Perform wiring checkout, system start-ups programming, utilizing commissioning tools provided.
- Complete final critical adjustments, calibration and commissioning reports on systems following installation and preliminary set up.
- Graphic creation database management.
Project Coordination & Delivery - Work towards the project schedule and work package received from the supervisor and/or project manager and maintains regular communication on the status and execution of the projects assigned.
- Participate in job site final walk on assigned jobs and/or final completion for systems to service turnover on assigned jobs.
Documentation, Close-Out & Compliance - Complete all job closeout documentation per PM@SBT Acceptance process policy as well as any RMA and warranty labour relief.
- Ensure that all site files/shop drawings/documentation are kept up to date for each contract.
- Ensure all work adheres to the company safety rules/statutory regulations/customers.
Customer Engagement, Training & Professional Representation - Conducts training and development classes for customers on site or at the branch.
- Delivers technical support coaching and direction to end users and other Service Technicians as applicable.
- Present a professional image of Siemens when communicating with customers at all levels; establish a good working relationship with all customers.
Location: supporting the Kelowna and/or Vancouver, British Columbia area.
What will you need to succeed? Education & Professional Experience: - Requires three years of college or technical school (electrical, mechanical, or control engineering) or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of direct experience working with Building Automation Systems, BAS programming.
Technical & Systems Skills: - BAS programming.
- Commissioning and start-ups.
- Communication protocols: BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, MSTP.
- Good knowledge of building systems and relevant standards.
- Proven diagnostic skills; able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems.
- Assets: Knowledge of building mechanical systems; understanding of the Building Code as it pertains to automation; specific technical knowledge of Siemens building automation systems.
Professional Skills & Competencies: - Self-motivated and calm under pressure; professional.
- Commercially and technically aware.
- IT literate.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, and ability to communicate with contractors, consultants, and customer representatives from technical to C-suite level.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Other Requirements: - General knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
- A valid and unrestricted G/Class 5 driver's license is required to participate in the Siemens Fleet Program and to operate a company vehicle for travel to customer sites within assigned region(s).
[BONUS ELIGIBLE: Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $70,000 CAD - $100,000 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits.]
