Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Director of Operations

We are seeking a high-impact, hands-on Field Service Team Lead to take ownership of a critical service organization supporting complex Medium Voltage (MV) drive systems and Synchronous Condenser installations across the United States and internationally. This is not a purely managerial role, it is a frontline leadership position where you will lead from the field, setting the standard for technical excellence, safety, and execution. You will guide a team of 10-15 highly skilled field service professionals, while remaining actively engaged in complex commissioning, troubleshooting, and site leadership on high-value projects.

As a key leader within the service organization, you will play a pivotal role in developing talent, driving operational performance, and strengthening customer partnerships. Your ability to combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and decision-making will directly impact project success and long-term business growth.

The work model for the role is: Remote (Must be in Houston, TX or New Berlin, WI) {#LI-Remote}

This role is contributing to the Motion Service division in the US.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-15 field service engineers and specialists. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. Act as the technical and operational authority for complex MV drive and synchronous condenser projects
  • Take direct leadership on critical site activities, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and escalation management
  • Champion and enforce best-in-class Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
  • Drive planning, resource allocation, and execution excellence across multiple projects while collaborating cross-functionally with field service management, project management, sales, and technical support teams
  • Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely completion of administrative responsibilities, including timekeeping, expense management, and project documentation.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate's technical degree and years of 7 years relevant experience or High School technical Diploma and 9 years relevant experience or military education/experience required . Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and 5 years of relevant experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in field service or commissioning of Medium Voltage systems, drives, or rotating equipment. Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with Synchronous Condensers or similar power systems is highly desirable.
  • Site management experience and team leading experience are a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and HSE practices.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

ON-SITE WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS
In the performance of job duties, the employee will work in an industrial environment. The employee may be required to work near moving mechanical equipment, at elevated or potentially hazardous locations, and in outdoor weather conditions. The role involves work-related travel and may include occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and vibration. Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate but may periodically be high; therefore, appropriate protection is to be used.

The position regularly requires the ability to communicate effectively, including speaking and hearing, and to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The employee must frequently use hands to operate tools and equipment, handle materials, and manipulate controls; reach overhead; climb or maintain balance; and perform movements such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The role may require the use of other senses to assess hazards such as vision, hearing, and the sense of smell as a means to identify possible safety hazards

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $133,280 annually.
