Summary:
The System Manager, Clinical Education assumes responsibility for leading and coordinating the System Clinical Educators in establishing and facilitating educational activities that build the capacity of clinical team members throughout the system to accomplish individual, facility and system-wide initiatives and goals. The System Manager, Clinical Education assesses learning needs, creates cohesive educational plans, develops and drives successful implementation strategies that are outcomes based. The manager ensures education process consistency across the organization and leverages the strengths of clinical experts throughout the system to impact planning, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of clinical programing based on educational principles, theory, and research.
Specifically, the System Clinical Education Manager: Demonstrates a superior level of clinical expertise; serves as role model for professional clinical practice. Responsible for the educational needs assessment of clinical team members, the design and facilitation of new and ongoing clinical programs and education planning, including needed resources, and evaluates implementation effectiveness. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provision of clinical education services. Directs the daily operations of assigned area(s) of responsibility and recommends sufficient number of qualified competent persons to provide clinical education. Supervises System Clinical Educators and continually assesses clinical education's performance and actions for improvement. Validates ongoing clinical educator competency and professional development. Collaborates in the development of strategic goals and objectives for clinical education. Coordinates and maintains responsibility for system wide educational efforts and outcomes. Oversees the development of educational activity content, clinical competency programs and professional development pathways consistent with system-wide educational goals. Encourages the use of creative and innovative educational strategies to assist in building the capacity of clinical team members. Ensures the utilization of evidence-based practice in the delivery of clinical educational activities. Benchmarks best practices and proposes appropriate education models for clinical team members in collaboration with system leadership teams. Collaborates with Clinical Education leadership to monitor the quality of educational activities within the system and addresses areas of needed improvement. Develops, administers and manages the Clinical Education Department budget. Directs communication and marketing initiatives for clinical education activities. Serves on system and facility committees as delegated by Clinical Education Director. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Clinical Education, and in conjunction with CNO. Working hours may exceed 40 hours per week and will occasionally require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the educational needs of team members working all shifts. Travel within the Ballad System and other locations for educational events will be a requirement of this role.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing program; Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of three years nursing experience is required. Documentation of teaching and leadership experience is required. Understanding of curriculum design is required.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active RN licensure in appropriate stateAHA BLS requiredACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on clinical education support roleClinical Speciality certification preferred
