Job Summary

The Systems Integration Technical Lead is responsible for ensuring Delta Controls products work effectively together as an integrated system and meet the needs of their intended applications and end-users.
The role leads the development and validation of scenarios spanning multiple products, services, and technology domains, with an emphasis on customer workflows, product interactions, dependencies, and compatibility.
The Systems Integration Technical Lead drives an automation-first approach, developing repeatable automated validation, tooling, and environments that improve integration confidence and identify system-level issues earlier in the product development lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Identifying critical workflows and scenarios spanning multiple products.
  • Designing and maintaining system integration test strategies and scenarios.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests, frameworks, and tools.
  • Driving automation-first system integration and validation practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining representative system integration environments.
  • Identifying product dependencies, compatibility concerns, and integration risks.
  • Troubleshooting complex issues involving multiple products or technology layers.
  • Working with product teams to reproduce, isolate, and resolve integration issues.
  • Converting significant integration and field issues into regression scenarios where appropriate.
  • Coordinating system integration activities across product development teams.
  • Providing integration status and known risks to support release readiness.
  • Continuously identifying and addressing deficiencies in system integration coverage.
  • Supporting and mentoring team members contributing to integration and automation.
  • Acting as a technical resource on integrated product behavior and applications.

Authority

The Systems Integration Technical Lead has the authority to:
  • Define and prioritize system integration validation activities.
  • Raise integration, compatibility, or system-readiness issues to the appropriate teams or leadership.
  • Request additional system-level validation when significant integration risk is identified.
  • Identify system integration risks that should be considered during release readiness decisions.


Required or Strongly Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership, initiative, and technical decision-making skills.
  • Strong software development and test automation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing automated tests, frameworks, and tools.
  • Strong understanding of networked and distributed systems.
  • Ability to understand product interfaces, dependencies, and system interactions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple technology layers.
  • Experience with APIs, networking, communication protocols, logs, and system diagnostics.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated validation practices.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple product development teams.
  • Knowledge of the Delta Controls product portfolio and applications is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of building controls, control theory, embedded systems, or electronics is an asset.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Successful completion of an accredited technology diploma program, undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5• 8 years of relevant experience in software development, test development, systems integration, automation, or related technical roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical leadership or small-team leadership experience.
  • Strong programming experience with Python, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience developing automated tests, frameworks, or technical tooling.
  • Experience with networked applications and complex system troubleshooting.
  • Experience integrating software, cloud services, firmware, embedded devices, or hardware is an asset.

Performance Measures
  • System integration coverage of critical cross-product workflows.
  • Reliability and maintainability of automated integration validation.
  • Earlier identification of integration issues.
  • Reproducibility and reliability of system integration environments.
  • Effectiveness of integration issue investigation and diagnosis.

Work Location: Hybrid (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change)
City: Surrey
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $80,000 to $95,000
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
