Job Description:The System Director of Education provides strategic and operational leadership for system-wide education, clinical education, competency management, medical education, professional development, and clinical career advancement programs across Powers Health. This position establishes strategic direction, governance, standards, and performance expectations for education functions throughout the organization. The System Director has direct leadership responsibility for Directors and other education leaders and is accountable for developing and maintaining an integrated system-wide education strategy that supports patient safety, quality outcomes, regulatory and accreditation requirements, workforce development, employee engagement, professional growth, and organizational priorities. Collaborates with executive leadership, clinical and operational leaders, Medical Staff leadership, Human Resources, Quality, Patient Safety, and academic partners to identify current and future learning and workforce development needs. Ensures education and competency programs are evidence-based, measurable, standardized where appropriate, and aligned with the strategic objectives of Powers Health. Provides system-level oversight of HealthStream and other Learning Management Systems, medical education, clinical education, competency assessment and validation, continuing education, employee development, and clinical career ladder programs. The System Director establishes accountability measures and evaluates the effectiveness of education programs through education compliance, competency outcomes, quality and patient safety indicators, workforce metrics, employee feedback, and other relevant data. The position promotes innovation, consistency, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all Powers Health entities.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare education, clinical education, nursing professional development or a related healthcare leadership function with demonstrated experience leading managers and/or directors.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction, exercise independent judgment and lead systemwide initiatives.
- Knowledge of clinical education, competency assessment, adult learning, professional development and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems; HealthStream experience preferred.
- Experience with medical education and/or clinical career advancement programs preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, presentation and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others, build collaborative relationships, and prioritize competing organizational needs.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Epic.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS)
