Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced System Architect to lead the definition and architectural development of solid-state power device solutions for safety-critical systems and motor control. Experience with SiC and GaN devices is preferred. You are coming from an OEM or semiconductor applications background with years of experience building power electronics systems. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive innovation at the intersection of power electronics, functional safety, motor control, inverters, and system integration. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation power electronics platforms by collaborating with cross-functional teams and OEM/ Tier 1 partners to deliver robust, scalable, and standards-compliant system architectures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of working closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)/ Tier 1, contributing to the definition and development of complex, system-level architectures in automotive and industrial applications. This includes cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to align technical requirements with product strategy and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system architecture definition for next-generation power electronics solutions, ensuring alignment with functional safety, performance, and scalability requirements.
  • Expertise in using MOSFETs, SiC, GaN power ICs, AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion topologies, motor control, and magnetics is a key requirement.
  • Collaborate with OEMs and internal cross-functional teams (including product, design, systems, software, and validation) to define and refine system-level requirements and interfaces.
  • Drive end-to-end architectural decisions, from concept through production, balancing trade-offs across power, sense & control, thermal, cost, mechanical, and safety constraints.
  • Work with the Functional safety team to ensure compliance with ISO 26262, UL safety and other relevant automotive or Industrial safety standards. Functional safety experience is good to have but not mandatory,
  • Command on EMI/EMC as well as radiation tolerance and space applications is desired.
  • Translate customer and market requirements into robust, modular, and reusable system architectures that support long-term product roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to systems engineering teams, guiding best practices in architecture modeling, safety analysis, and system validation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes, and integrate relevant innovations into architectural planning.
