Title: System and Process Project Manager

Location:  Remote/Nationwide

Travel: up to 20%

Security Clearance: Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI)

Schedule: This is a full-time position that typically works business hours Monday through Friday. Hours may vary depending on needs and may at times include travel, evenings, or weekends to meet specific project requirements or time zones.

Salary: $110,00-120,000/Annually

Job Summary:

The System and Process Project Manager manages the functionality, performance, integration, security, and enhancement of the NamUs information system. The position serves as the operational liaison between users, program staff, software engineers, and government stakeholders.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the functionality, integration, and performance testing of the NamUs database, ensuring it meets programmatic requirements.
  • Maintain a list of system enhancements and modifications for the database, conducts system audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, and monitors overall system performance.
  • Track system functionality, assess user-reported issues, and provide recommendations for future enhancements, while serving as a liaison between internal teams, software engineers, and external agencies to align database capabilities with operational goals.
  • Manage the sharing of information within the database, including review of FOIA requests, captures database metrics, and oversees database imports.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in database management, system administration, or IT project management, preferably within a criminal
    justice, forensic, or public safety environment.
  • Minimum 4 years’ work experience in functional and performance testing of database systems.
  • Certification in Data Privacy or Information Security is highly desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and forensic QA protocols.
  • Ability to conduct internal audits and manage corrective actions. Strong analytical and documentation skills.
    Understanding of regulatory compliance in forensic environments.
  • Ability to train and guide staff on QA best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Clearance:

  • Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Security Requirements/Background Investigation Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen
  • Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years. 
  • Successfully passing a background investigation including drug screening.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Alternate Sitting or Standing at Will: The employee has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed.
  • Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meetings.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 0% - 10% of the time. 
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time. 
  • Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write type (55 wpm), enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard 100% of the time. 
  • Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
