Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented System Administrator to join our Air Force / Space team at Eglin AFB.

The System Administrator's primary function is to support the United States Air Force's 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Determining hardware, software, and systems specifications, and configuration requirements.
  • Execution of the patching, fixing, and making all assigned systems compliant.
  • Planning, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Hyper V, Microsoft Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, client products across multiple networks, and network storage.
  • Provide support to users in the areas of account management, enterprise applications, desktop applications, and peripherals.
  • May work closely with the ISSO for data transfers and media creation.
  • Facilitate and coordinate user account creation and modification.
  • Perform other hardware and software tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline from an accredited college or university. 2 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • At least 2 years of direct/related experience
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT), Level II or higher
  • Working technical competency in one or more of the following supported platforms: Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, MS Hyper-V/VMWare/ESx/Xen Hypervisors, Enterprise networking/firewalls/intrusion detection/prevention systems, forensic analysis/vulnerability assessment, Group Policy management and configuration, Scripting, BMC Footprints, WSUS, Lumension, Bitlocker, SQL Server 2012, TomCat, IIS, Windows Server 2012r2/2016, Win 10, Red Hat 6.5, Microsoft Office
  • Toolkits, SEIMs, Logrhythm, ACAS/Nessus/SCAP, mandatory/role-based access control concepts (e. g. SE Linux extensions to RHEL, PitBull, AppArmor, and Sentris) , video teleconferencing/VOIP, Oracle/MS SQL database security, and Apache/IIS Web server security


Clearance Requirement:
  • Must have a current/active Secret Clearance and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance if required.


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations."
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
