Full Job Description

The NISC IV Training Group at Leidos has an opportunity at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facility located in Oklahoma City, OK. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing air traffic control (ATC) simulation training equipment located in the lab.  They will be responsible for installation and maintenance of the software and hardware. The position is full time daily operation and may require after hours and weekend duty via on-call support.  The System Administrator is required to be able to respond within one (1) hour of critical incident notification during duty hours ([redacted]) and within six (6) hours or less during non-duty hours/weekends/holidays if needed. This position will require 10% - 15% travel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain isolated SCORE workstation hardware, Windows 11 operating systems, Blackmagic Design HyperDeck equipment, device drivers, and supporting software in accordance with FAA security requirements and established system baselines.
  • Administer local user accounts, access privileges, Role-Based Access Control, local group policies, password requirements, system lockouts, security configurations, restoration operations, contingency planning, and local backups while maintaining least-privilege and separation-of-duties requirements.
  • Perform operating system, application, security patch, and HyperDeck firmware updates in an isolated environment using approved and scanned physical media. Ensure systems remain physically and logically separated from FAA enterprise networks, Active Directory, MyAccess, and cloud-based services.
  • Monitor storage capacity, audit records, and HyperDeck hardware status to identify system failures or other operational issues.
  • Work directly with FAA personnel, end users, and support staff of attached systems to resolve system, hardware, software, network, and media-related issues for our system boundary.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight as well as in conjunction with multiple personnel in the fulfillment of the individual employee’s functions.
    • Must have the ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions and solve a variety of problems.
    • The candidate should have a thorough understanding of their respective position, functions, and duties and will assist FAA and vendor in the creation and development of training.
    • Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office and MS Power Point.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability granted through the FAA - (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3  years.)

    Preferred Qualifications – Not Required

    • Experience with professional audio/video recording, media ingest, camera systems and video production equipment.
    • Experience with Blackmagic Design hardware and software, particularly HyperDeck recording devices, HyperDeck Setup, firmware management, network-based media transfers, and troubleshooting.
    • Experience administering Windows systems in air-gapped, isolated, or highly controlled environments where software, patches, and firmware must be installed without direct Internet or enterprise-network connectivity.
    • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation, particularly for Windows administration, file management, network transfers, checksum validation, system configuration, and repetitive administrative tasks.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
