Description: Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator Level 2 to support mission-critical telecommunications and IT infrastructure operations. This role focuses on maintaining system reliability through continuous monitoring, proactive troubleshooting, and coordination across multiple operational teams. You will play a key role in ensuring system availability and security by supporting network infrastructure, responding to events in real time, and maintaining operational awareness across both internal and external stakeholders. This position operates in a shift-based environment and directly contributes to 24/7 mission support.
Key Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems and supporting infrastructure
- Provide 24/7 monitoring and operational support, including alerting, logging, ticketing, and reporting activities
- Monitor network and system performance, identify issues, and support timely resolution of incidents
- Coordinate with ISP providers and watch staff to maintain situational awareness and execute response actions
- Communicate system status and event activity to customers, stakeholders, and support teams
- Perform router and switch updates in support of security and compliance requirements
- Support troubleshooting and maintenance of network devices and IT systems to ensure operational continuity
- Document incidents, changes, and system activities in accordance with organizational procedures
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 10+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
- Experience supporting telecommunications or network infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with system monitoring, incident response, and ticketing workflows
- Strong coordination and communication skills across technical teams and stakeholders
Certifications (DoD 8570 Compliant - one or more required):- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Security
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
- Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Work Schedule:- Shift-based coverage required:
- Sunday - Thursday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM or
- Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
