We're seeking a Systems Administrator 1 (Linux) to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD!

Active TS/SCI w/ poly security clearance required.

The skilled Linux based System Administrator (SA-1) will support a DevOps team. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with the development team, capabilities providers, and mission customers to migrate existing applications and services off legacy hardware and onto enterprise compute frameworks.

Position Description:
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements:
  • Five (5) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with Linux
  • Bash scripting experience
  • Experience in the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and services
  • Ability to collaborate with software development team to deploy, test, monitor, and operate customer applications and services
  • Collaborate with Information System Security Engineer and Officers (ISSE/O) to conduct patching and configuration changes required to maintain existing System Security Plans (SSP)

Pay Range is determined by various factors such as education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements; negotiable based on elected total compensation packages which include but not limited to paid time off, healthcare elections, and retirement. The projected compensation for this position is around $121,000.
