Job Summary

Leads, manages and directs corporate financial functions of treasury, including operational goals surrounding risk management, foreign exchange exposure, custody of funds, compliance, Institutional products and cash management. Responsible for the execution and analysis of capital management activities including capital markets activity (debt, hybrid, equity raises; Institutional products (FABN), share repurchases). Establishes worldwide credit facilities, oversees the investment of operational cash and assists in the prudent management of derivatives within RGA. Evaluates value propositions, engages in strategic discussions and drives potential deals to completion. Oversees the functions of the Treasury Department and Capital Raising. Ensures alignment and coordination with all other areas of the company to execute on corporate business strategies and vision.

Location: To maximize collaboration and impact, we strongly prefer candidates who are located in or willing to relocate to the St. Louis area, where the Treasury team is based. For exceptional candidates, we may consider an alternative arrangement that includes extensive travel to maintain a meaningful on-site presence.

Responsibilities
  • Leads enterprise treasury, liquidity, and funding strategy to support business operations, capital projects, acquisitions, and enterprise financial flexibility. Advises senior leadership on liquidity needs, cash deployment, and treasury-related strategies aligned to corporate objectives.
  • Develops and manages strategic banking relationships and enterprise banking capabilities, including credit facilities, financing arrangements, money market solutions, and global disbursement capabilities. Ensures banking partnerships support liquidity, funding flexibility, operational resilience, and evolving business needs.
  • Oversees enterprise currency risk management strategy, infrastructure, and governance. Provides strategic oversight of foreign currency exposures, FX management, and hedging activities to support financial stability and risk-adjusted business outcomes.
  • Provides leadership over treasury-related risk management practices involving currency, liquidity, funding, and capital. Partners with Finance, Risk, business units, and legal entities to ensure risks are appropriately evaluated, governed, and aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Leads enterprise capital markets strategy and execution, including debt, hybrid capital, public and private financings, credit facilities, and other funding solutions, to optimize capital structure, liquidity, financial flexibility, and enterprise risk-adjusted returns.
  • Serves as a strategic treasury and funding partner for block transactions, business initiatives, and legal entity needs, advising on liquidity, capital deployment, collateral structures, trust and custody arrangements, banking solutions, and country-specific funding requirements.
  • Directs capital raising and strategic capital allocation for the holding company and key operating companies. Advises senior leadership on capital structure, financing alternatives, legal entity funding strategy, and related risks to support enterprise liquidity, funding capacity, and business growth.
  • Leads and develops the Treasury organization, including talent management, associate development, performance coaching, and team engagement. Builds organizational capability to support enterprise treasury, funding, capital management, and strategic advisory responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field
  • 20+ years accounting/finance experience to include 10+ years in each of the following: a finance role; experience in capital management, capital markets interactions, industry transactions; and a management role. Plus industry experience.


Preferred:
  • Master's degree in business administration, Finance, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • 10+ years Insurance/reinsurance accounting experience
  • Insurance operational experience (retail or institutional product development or knowledge of product performance, understanding of distribution channels, multiple legal entities, local regulatory view beyond the US)
  • Experience with capital markets activities and forms of alternative capital
  • Knowledge of capital optimization strategies
  • Experience in legal entity management and governance practices


Skills & Abilities

Required:
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting and financial statements/reports, SEC Reporting practices, US GAAP and Regulatory accounting, and various financial management-reporting practices.
  • Finance-related practices; capital management; and transactions.
  • People management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop associates.
  • Ability to implement organizational, divisional and/or departmental vision and goals that result in achievement and success through exceptional leadership skills, collaboration, creative thinking, maintaining focus, and persistence, even under adversity, while maintaining the confidence of management and associates.

Compensation Range:
$323,600.00 - $479,733.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
