Role overview
Dual North America is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP), Application Development.
The Senior Vice President (SVP), Application Development is a transformational technology leader responsible for shaping the future of DUAL's enterprise application ecosystem across Commercial Lines and Personal Lines. This role drives the vision, design, and delivery of next-generation platforms that powers underwriting innovation, digital distribution, and scalable growth.
The SVP owns the strategy and execution of mission-critical platforms, including Passport (Digital Portal), Unified Rating Platform (URP), and InsuranceNow (Personal Lines PAS) reimagining how technology enables speed to market, flexibility, and competitive advantage.
Operating at the intersection of business and technology, this leader harnesses a hybrid delivery model, combining high-performing internal engineering teams with offshore partners to accelerate innovation, elevate engineering excellence, and build a modern, API-driven platform foundation that positions DUAL for long-term success.
Role responsibilities
- Define and execute enterprise application development strategy across Commercial and Personal Lines
- Align technology roadmap with underwriting, distribution, and product expansion goals
- Drive API-first, cloud-based modernization initiatives
- Ensure alignment to enterprise architecture and API standards
- Lead agile delivery across development, QA, and release management
- Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery outcomes
- Establish KPIs, SLAs, and delivery accountability frameworks
- Support SAFe 6.0 and ITIL process execution
Key requirements
- 15+ years in application development and leadership roles
- Proven experience leading development for insurance platforms, including policy administration, rating engines, and underwriting systems (Commercial and Personal Lines preferred)
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-platform initiatives across digital portals, core systems, and API ecosystems
- Proven experience leading high-growth, fast-paced teams
- Strong track record of driving modernization, platform consolidation, and digital transformation initiatives
