Title:

KBR is seeking a Sustainment Production Lead to support a Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Management Office (PMO) located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We conduct Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities for state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, providing global secure, survivable and protected communications for our Nation’s warfighters.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Systems Engineer & Integration (SE&I) professional with leadership/management expertise and the ability to integrate systems/segments/elements in acquisitions followed by Transition-to-Operations (TTO) to the Joint Force for the Air Force / Army Anti-jam Modem (A3M) program. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter capable of autonomous, on-the-job, learning/growth while working in a collaborative environment of small teams. The ideal candidate will employ their skills and experience to tackle the technical aspects associated with A3M production and system integration to the Protected Anti-jam Tactical System (PATS) program, space and ground segments. This opportunity is an engineering management position with growth potential where the ideal candidate will not only have the required technical acumen, but also the ability to lead and manage a geographically-dispersed team of ten (10) highly-skilled SE&I professionals across multiple SE areas who are supporting post-Milestone C production activities with the Government customer and prime contractor. The candidate will also manage technical baselines post-TTO by implementing established/proven government Sustaining Engineering processes and procedures to advance O&S activities. Join our high-functioning, high-performing MSEIT Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT) and be an important part of directly and positively affecting Joint and Allied combat readiness as they employ MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals and software applications worldwide during full spectrum military operations.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Effectively lead and manage a talented team of acquisition SE&I engineers and practitioners while maintaining positive customer relations and achieving high contract performance

• Directly collaborate/coordinate with the Government customer, greater MSEIT acquisition team and prime contractor to close requirements gaps; support major requirements reviews, design reviews, and other meetings

• Proactively assist A3M PMO in the management of Risks/Issues/Opportunities (RIO), CDRL deliveries/reviews/responses, system interdependencies/priorities, schedule disconnects/conflicts and product quality improvements

• Develop and implement integration strategies to successfully integrate SATCOM systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components

• Apply Systems-of-Systems Engineering principles across satellite, terminal, network, cyber, and cryptographic components

• Manage technical baselines among multiple stakeholders (government & industry); assess impacts of technical changes on enterprise-level mission capabilities

• Facilitate review of contractor-developed program documents by performing technical assessments and providing comments, compiling other review team comments, and working with contractors to adjudicate comments

• Serve as the key leader to assess technical issues and prepare briefings to the A3M PMO and other stakeholders; galvanize the team to provide Courses of Actions (COA) ISO Government decisions

• Travel:  Up to 25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government customer and/or corporate direction

Qualifications:

Required:

• An active DoW SECRET clearance with ability to attain a TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or related technical field from an accredited university

• 12+ years of SEIT work experience including sub-disciplines such as Quality Management (QM), Technical Baseline Management, and Integration, Verification & Validation (IV&V); experience developing/managing SEIT artifacts such as requirements documents/specifications or Interface Control Documents (ICD)

• 5+ years of leadership experience preferably in engineering management

• 5+ years of experience working with a DoW PMO; understanding of DoW acquisition processes

• Experience supporting programs/systems/capabilities in acquisition, specifically post-Milestone C

• Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills with the ability to positively shape customer relations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Project)

Desired:

• 15+ years of SE&I work experience including sub-disciplines such as Requirements Management and technical baseline development, test planning, integration, and execution; verification; and validation

• 10+ years of leadership experience preferably in engineering management

• 10+ years of experience in a DoW program office with an understanding of DoW acquisition processes

• Experience working with strategic and/or tactical MILSATCOM and/or COMSATCOM space systems

• Experience with Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and/or Full Rate Production (FRP)

• Experience supporting Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities such as operational deployments and fielding of capabilities

• Knowledge of Digital Engineering (DE) or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applications (e.g., SparxEA, Cameo, etc)

• Possess knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (e.g., JIRA/Confluence)

• Possess knowledge of Requirements Management, Change Management and Configuration Management (CM) processes

• Current International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (i.e. ASEP, CSEP, ESEP)

• Current Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification

This position is 100% onsite at Peterson Space Force Base's (PSFB), Product Support Facility (PSF) given mission requirements and is not eligible for formal hybrid or full remote employment options.

Basic Compensation:  $148,400 - $185,500 in Colorado Springs, CO

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
