The successful ALSS Maintenance Manager advises the maintenance manager on technical matters and leads a mission focused maintenance effort. Manages assigned resources necessary to accomplish the mission. Controls maintenance through leads and seniors. Responsibilities differ only in degree and are common and applicable to all maintenance functions.

Essential Responsibilities: 

• Enforces strict adherence to technical data and management procedures.
• Adjusts resources to meet production requirements.
• Assigns adequate supervisory coverage for each shift.
• Ensures accurate daily documentation of maintenance actions.
• Reviews and evaluates production effectiveness. Analyzes personnel and equipment performance history using QA reports. Initiates management actions to meet new workloads or correct reported/perceived deficiencies.
• Participates in the maintenance planning cycle.
• Ensures only qualified personnel accomplish maintenance with the appropriate equipment and tools.
• Ensures compliance with safety directives, appropriate occupational safety and health standards, and applicable industrial safety publications. Those occupational training requirements that require documentation will be annotated on the appropriate records.
• Establishes procedures to minimize foreign object damage and dropped objects.
• Advises the production supervisor of conditions that may disrupt the orderly and controlled execution of the maintenance plan.
• Working conditions may range from standard shop to environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc.
• May be required to work where high noise hazards prevail.
• May be required to wear protective clothing or other safety equipment.
• May be required to interpret Material Safety Data Sheets and handle hazardous materials and chemicals.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess 8 years private sector or military experience directly related to contract performance or equivalent in the ALSS field in a supervisory role.
• Completed Navy/Marine PR “A” School, or Military equivalent.
• Knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series, OPNAV 8023 series, VFS Trace CAD/PAD, NALCOMIS OOMA, and 13 series publications
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are required. Proficiency with MS office applications required.
• Position requires the ability to obtain ordnance certification (includes physical).
• Position may require travel and the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
• Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, lift, carry, balance, and reach above shoulder level, push, or pull weight up to seventy (50) pounds.
• Ability to use eye hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Must have close vision to include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to hear at the normal range.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any company/government required qualification, certification, licensing, or security clearance.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or Management
• Knowledge of T6/T44 specific maintenance requirements.
• Working Knowledge of Costpoint and Readiness Insight
