Job DescriptionStantec is seeking an experienced, licensed Survey Manager to lead and grow our surveying practice within the Community Development group in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Your Key Responsibilities - Lead boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title, control, construction staking, and platting assignments for land development and infrastructure projects.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, risk, and financial performance across multiple surveying and mapping projects.
- Provide responsible charge, technical direction, and quality assurance/quality control for professional survey deliverables.
- Build and support a strong team by directing workloads, mentoring staff, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for professional growth.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, environmental professionals, project managers, and technical specialists across Stantec to deliver integrated solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to public- and private-sector clients by understanding their goals, communicating clearly, and delivering responsive service.
- Support business development through client relationship management, proposal development, interviews, strategic pursuits, and identification of new opportunities.
- Champion Stantec's commitment to safety, integrity, technical excellence, inclusion, and collaboration in daily work and team leadership.
- Apply modern survey technologies and efficient workflows to improve quality, consistency, and value for clients.
QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials- Current Professional Land Surveyor licensure in New Mexico, or the ability to obtain New Mexico licensure within six months of hire.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable survey laws, standards, principles, techniques, procedures, occupational hazards, and safety practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate work within established scope, schedule, and budget commitments.
- Sound professional judgment and the ability to solve complex technical and operational challenges with creativity and practical innovation.
- Strong client-service, relationship-building, presentation, verbal communication, and technical writing skills.
- A collaborative leadership style that supports accountability, knowledge sharing, belonging, and the development of others.
- Familiarity with current surveying, mapping, data-processing, and design technologies used in professional practice.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Education and Experience- At least six years of progressively responsible land surveying experience.
- At least two years working in a responsible charge or comparable leadership capacity, including directing workloads, scheduling work, and reviewing and approving professional deliverables.
- Experience managing survey projects, teams, clients, and financial performance is strongly preferred.

You will anticipate resource needs, translate project requirements into compelling proposals and practical work plans, guide production through final delivery, and help expand trusted relationships in the marketplace. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
