As our Surgical Specialty RN, you will provide expert, patient-centered nursing care throughout the perioperative continuum, ensuring optimal outcomes and safety for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your specialized clinical skills and critical thinking are essential in preparing patients, assisting surgeons, and facilitating a sterile, efficient surgical environment.Every day you will meticulously assess patients pre-operatively, develop care plans, circulate or scrub during procedures, and provide comprehensive post-operative care, expertly managing medications and monitoring vitals. You'll educate patients, ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, and collaborate inter-disciplinarily while meticulously documenting and advocating for patient well-being.To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional clinical assessment skills, strong critical thinking for high-pressure situations, and excellent communication for team collaboration and patient education. Required

• Satisfactory completion of a formal Registered Nurse program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Registered Nurse program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.)
• Current and valid Registered Nurse: CA license (RN:CA)
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) certification from the American Heart Association
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential
• Knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 coding procedures and reference tools, and pharmacology appropriate to the Registered Nurse scope of practice is essential

Preferred

• One (1) year experience in an outpatientor inpatient setting as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in Cardiovascular Nursing strongly and coordination of surgeries
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Familiarity with an electronic practice management system
