Job Summary and Responsibilities**Three Years OR experience required****Previous Experience as an SFA preferred**Day to Day Duties :
- Act as a Surgical First Assistant on surgeries.
- Work closely with the surgeon in a hands-on capacity, helping the surgeon by handling vital tasks such as prepping the patient for surgery, providing suturing, clamping, removing scar tissue and positioning patients during surgery to ensure a safe operation.
- Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon's needs.
- Maintaining and updating preference cards.
- Perform preoperative and post operative care as directed by surgeon to facilitate proper patient care
- Must be able and willing to function as a CST when volumes are low for SA needs
10 OR Suites +1 Cysto Room+1minor procedure room
Approx. 600-700+ cases per month
Schedule- 40hrs/Week- Variable shift times per surgical Volume and current unit needs
Call required- Approx. 4-6 call shifts per 6 week schedule block. May Vary

Job RequirementsIn addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Three years operating room experience
- General knowledge of asepsis, healing, infectious disease process, surgical
anatomy and physiology, safety issues and operative techniques - Graduate from an accredited Surgical Assistant program required
- Certified as a one of the following: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by NBSTSA; Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NSAA; Surgical Assistant-Certified (SAC) by ABSA
- Registered through DORA as a Colorado Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist
- License upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado
employed staff only) - BLS from the American Heart Association required
