Full Job Description
THE POSITION

Keyera is seeking a Surface Land Analyst to join our land team. This role will support a variety of operations-based projects with a primary focus on decommissioning, reclamation, remediation, integrity management, and ongoing operational activities across Keyera's asset base. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, field operations, environmental teams, regulatory groups, and external land representatives to manage surface land requirements from project initiation through to closure. This position requires strong knowledge of surface land agreements, regulatory processes, landowner relations, and project coordination, along with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and manage surface land requirements for decommissioning, reclamation, remediation, integrity digs, and operational maintenance projects.
  • Support operations and environmental teams with land access, landowner communication, and regulatory requirements for field activities.
  • Prepare, review, and manage a variety of surface land agreements and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate land brokers and third-party contractors to ensure alignment with project requirements, timelines, and company expectations.
  • Support reclamation and abandonment programs by coordinating land-related requirements and maintaining accurate project documentation and records.
  • Prepare and maintain land files, status reports, contact records, and tracking tools to support project execution and compliance.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within Keyera's land systems and related databases.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to process improvements, documentation standards, and operational efficiencies within the Land team.
  • Collaborate across departments to support safe, compliant, and efficient project execution.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum seven (7) years of surface land experience
  • Related post-secondary education in Petroleum Land Administration or a comparable discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of surface land procedures, applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry practices in Alberta
  • Experience managing land-related requirements associated with reclamation and abandonment activities is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively engage landowners, regulators, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with land management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Commissioner of Oaths in Alberta.
