Full Job Description
We are looking for a Surety Underwriter to join our team in either of the following offices: Walnut Creek CA, Pasadena CA, Mission Viejo CA and San Diego, CA! Summary: Under moderate direction and supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing intermediate levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability. A typical day will include the following: • Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits. • Participates in the producer management process which may include, but is not limited to, premium collections. • Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions. • Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building. • Assists with gathering and analyzing information, applies appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of risk acceptability. • May ensure credit quality of accounts managed while maintaining and updating underwriting files.
