Shift: Mon-Fri, Sat, Sun, (Days Vary), Shifts Vary, 8am-5pm

Position Summary

This position provides preventative, supportive, and corrective interventions related to the radiology environment by providing for the coordination of staff to ensure daily technical operations achieve and comply with established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations and standards.

Position Duties

  • Supervision Duties

    a. This position receives supervision of work activities from the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging.
    b. This position assists the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging with supervising radiology departments in advanced imaging including CT, MRI, US.
    c. Assists in performing performance appraisals, employee relations issue investigations and resolutions, and responsibilities associated with hiring and firing.
    d. Provides guidance, mentoring, and direction as appropriate for ongoing staff development.
  • Staff

    a. Assists manager in developing and revising staffing schedules to ensure quality patient care is delivered.
    b. Coordinates staff meetings and creates meeting agendas.
    c. Responsible for reviewing, adjusting, and approving timecards.
    d. Works with Talent Acquisition to arrange temporary staffing when necessary.
  • Charge Reconciliation

    Rectifies charges with specific modalities to ensure proper billing procedures are completed.
  • Education/Training

    Coordinates education and training for radiology technologists including department orientation, equipment orientation and updates, and procedure implementations and updates.
  • Quality/Reporting

    a. Monitors quality and effectiveness of workflow, problem resolution, and trouble-shoots issues and processes to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with all regulatory licensing requirements.
    b. Assists with collecting and compiling monthly statistical measures. Prepares related operational and statistical reports for management to assist in decision making.
    c. Assists Manager, Diagnostic Imaging in completing ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Diagnostic Duties

    a. Oversees performance of diagnostic and therapeutic routine radiology procedures and images, quality control testing, and instrument maintenance procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with policies, regulations, and safety guidelines for safe work practices.
    b. Oversees performance of archiving diagnostic images in accordance with Radiologist specifications.
  • Radiology Student Liaison

    Supervises and evaluates work activities of assigned Clinical Radiography students to ensure achievement of established goals. Provides guidance, mentoring, and direction as appropriate for ongoing student development.
  • Working as a staff technologist

    Works in modality to cover shifts and fill in when appropriate.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
