Position SummaryThe Material Supervisor manages daily material handling, warehouse operations, and inventory control to provide optimal support to production operations. This role directly leads a team of 20 to 25 material handlers, guiding day-to-day productivity, employee development, and safe material flow. The supervisor collaborates closely with procurement, logistics, and production to coordinate the receipt, storage, staging, and delivery of parts and finished goods while eliminating operational inefficiencies.
Key Responsibilities - Team Leadership & Culture: Supervise, schedule, train, and develop a team of 20 to 25 material handlers. Establish a positive, communicative warehouse culture centered around teaching, coaching, and collaborative development.
- Material Flow & Logistics: Coordinate the end-to-end flow of incoming parts, production materials, packaging, and finished goods logistics. Focus on managing physical inventory elements such as steel product, steel production parts, packaging, and fan guards.
- Inventory Control: Oversee daily warehouse cycle counts, inventory management practices, and audits to maintain data integrity within ERP/inventory management software.
- Operational Excellence: Interface across multiple production cells or complex areas to resolve material shortages, expedite sequencing, and guarantee material availability for smooth manufacturing cycles.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous safety regulations, proper equipment usage, and clean warehouse layout optimization standards.
- Customer & Vendor Interface: Collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain exceptional service standards and smooth operational logistics.
Work Schedule - Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Minimum Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in management or supervisory leadership roles.
Preferred Qualifications - Strong grasp of fundamental management approaches (work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and execution) paired with functional knowledge of technical or operational material handling practices.
- Prior experience supervising personnel within a unionized workforce.
- Demonstrated background building safe, high-performing team environments with strong interpersonal and self-aware leadership traits.
Pay RangeThe annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
