JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSESupervises/Co-supervises the daily activities of the DDs in the design area.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Approves timesheets, monitoring vacation or other time off, application of union agreements/contract (where applicable), DD production, DD overtime, etc.
- Works with the Planner/Scheduler to balance workload among DDs and to provide technical assistance to customer questions or request.
- Approves design jobs up to $150k, which includes checking revenue calculations, CIAC and taxes, drawing details, Points and Spans in DIS/GDT/Maximo. Interprets line extension policy and tariff rules as they apply to jobs. Interprets NEC and NESC codes, which apply to design jobs.
- Provides post construction audits to ensure designer accuracy, and to correct any frequent designer mistakes.
- Assists with difficult design issues, and customer issues or complaints.
- Provides basic surveying, field operation, DIS/GDT/Maximo, Safety procedures and Construction Standards training for the DDs.
- Performs office audits, driver observations, and other safety related tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMinimum education required of the position2-4 year Technical Degree (or equivalent Electrical Distribution work experience)
Minimum experience required of the positionElectrical Distribution/Transmission/Substation Experience: 10 years cumulative OR 5 years Distribution Technical Experience
Distribution Design Experience: 2 years with DIS, GDT or Maximo
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the positionGood work knowledge of Entergy Construction Specifications.
