The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the AFSC Subject Matter Expert and Liaison Officer (LNO) for the Stock Control System transition to DLA's Warehouse Management System. This position provides both technical expertise and programmatic support to align Air Force requirements to WMS to attain Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) compliance by 2027, per congressional mandate as well as Secretary of the Air Force (SAF) goal of consolidation through AF/A4LW. The secondary purpose of this position is to serve as Subject Matter Expert and Functional Manager oversight for USAF requirements of the Stock Control System for both wholesale and retail (D035 suite of systems). Performs supply management functions to analyze and develop USAF policy required to implement DoD and USAF wholesale supply policy and procedures for Air Force-managed items. Provides procedures in support of the AFSC Commander, AFMC Commander, HQ USAF/A4/A10, MAJCOM/A4, other DoD Services, Federal Agencies, and foreign military services. Designs, redefines, and implements changes in policy, business process improvements, and systems enhancements involving wholesale item management processes and related systems. Leads special projects focused on resolution of complex or unique systems/policy issues. Develops training materials for the use of new systems process and procedures. Responsible for planning and conducting proof of principle tests to maintain the data integrity of the Stock Control System (DO35A/B/C/K). The impact of not retaining this overhire capability is degradation to the Air Force's requirement to attain FIAR compliance within specified guidelines, risk to current schedule to deploy WMS at the Air Logistics Complexes (ALC) prior to FY27, Air Force assumption of the estimated $49M annual costs to retain the Stock Control System through FY27, and the lack of Functional Management oversight of D035K and alternate support for D035 A/B/C. This position is critical to maintaining current user functionality for supply chain and depot processes, as well as supporting Air Force modernization and consolidation initiatives.
