Supply Reliability Specialist - Millennium Space Systems

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supply Reliability Specialist to provide technical support to the Supply Reliability Engineers and the Receiving Inspection team in maintaining supplier quality, receiving inspection, and quality system compliance. This position assists with supplier quality activities, including non-conformance management, source inspection coordination, supplier audits, calibration management, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with AS9100, customer, and company requirements.

This position's internal job is Supplier Reliability Specialist. Our team is currently hiring for levels 3.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist Supply Reliability Engineers with the review, coordination, and resolution of supplier-related nonconformances (NCs).
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Reliability, and Quality Receiving Inspection to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) discussions involving supplier-related non-conformances and provide technical input.
  • Assist in ensuring Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs), waivers, or approved engineering deviations are in place prior to suppliers shipping nonconforming products.
  • Administrate supplier quality and purchasing related documentation and systems of record (e.g. Quality Clauses, Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR) packages, etc.)
  • Support supplier corrective action activities and follow up on open quality issues.
  • Perform supplier audits to verify compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Visit supplier facilities to assess receiving and final inspection processes, verify Source Inspection readiness, review supplier quality documentation, and support supplier development initiatives.
  • Coordinate and perform Source Inspection activities as assigned.
  • Review and disposition as applicable, supplier nonconformances.
  • Support periodic calibration sweeps and maintain the Receiving Inspection calibration log and equipment records.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new Receiving Inspection personnel.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Receiving Inspection and Supplier Quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for supplier quality and receiving inspection.
  • Assist in monitoring supplier quality metrics and identifying process improvements.
  • Support audits for Receiving Inspection.
  • Other job duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or engineering-related training preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Supplier Quality, Receiving Inspection, or Source Inspection experience.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 requirements. .
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience supporting MRB activities, supplier nonconformance investigations, corrective action processes, and Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs).
  • Experience performing supplier audits and source inspections.
  • Experience with calibration systems and quality record management.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, military standards, and ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
  • Ability to travel to supplier facilities (20-25%)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Current IPC certifications (IPC-A-610 CIS/CIT, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001).
  • ASQ certifications such as CQI, CQE, CQA, or CMQ/OE.
  • AS9100 Internal or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Experience performing supplier process, product, and system audits.
  • Experience with RCCA methodologies including 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA.
  • Experience reviewing First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
  • Working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal, electronics/PCBAs, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience developing procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and training materials.
  • Previous experience supporting DoD, NASA, or commercial aerospace programs.
  • Experience mentoring or training quality inspectors.
  • This position requires an active TS/SCI (U.S. Citizenship required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.
