Position Summary:

The Supply Planning & Procurement Manager is responsible for leading all planning, purchasing, supplier performance, and material management activities for a highly customized engineered-to-order and make-to-order manufacturing environment. This role develops and executes supply chain strategies that ensure material availability, supplier reliability, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery of customer projects. The successful candidate will build a disciplined procurement and planning organization capable of supporting growth while managing supply risk, inventory investment, and cost performance.

Essential Functions:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical commodities and supplier categories.
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and performance management initiatives.
  • Establish supplier scorecards measuring quality, delivery, responsiveness, lead time, and cost performance.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers.
  • Identify and implement supplier risk mitigation strategies.
  • Drive supplier development initiatives to improve reliability and reduce supply chain disruptions.
  • Lead contract and commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery commitments.
  • Develop secondary sourcing strategies for critical materials and components.

Improve supplier on-time delivery, responsiveness, and overall supply chain reliability through structured supplier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Supply Planning and Project-Based Manufacturing

  • Lead material planning activities within a Make-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure material availability aligns with project milestones and engineering release schedules.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, Project Management, and Customer Service teams to manage changing customer requirements.
  • Develop planning methodologies that accommodate long lead-time and custom engineered components.
  • Manage supply chain impacts associated with engineering changes and project scope modifications.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible supply chain leadership experience.
  • Minimum 3 years leading procurement and planning teams.
  • Experience in capital equipment, industrial machinery, automation, process equipment, or engineered products manufacturing.
  • Experience operating in Make-to-Order (MTO) and/or Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record improving supplier performance and procurement processes.

Preferred

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience with supplier development programs.
  • Experience implementing procurement process improvements.
  • Advanced ERP planning system knowledge.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $89,400.00 - $134,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
