Job Description

This planner role will have primary responsibility for Supply Chain activities within the assigned Oncology and Vascular platforms to achieve business objectives, customer service goals and optimize inventory. This role requires a natural leader and facilitator who is driven and innovative with excellent communication skills. Includes proactive risk mitigation, supply execution oversight, forecasting, capacity planning, and monitoring and reporting of results.

Essential / Key Job Responsibilities (including supervisory and/or fiscal):
  • Team with global supply teams and operations to align market and financial requirements with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Lead input for all customer service-related communications for assigned product portfolios within the given business platforms.
  • Monitor production attainment for assigned product lines and pro-actively communicate capacity constraints, material shortages, and/or significant events impacting incoming supply.
  • Monitor capacity loading on assigned production lines and engage cross-functional partners as needed to resolve capacity constraints proactively.
  • Partner with regional demand planners to understand impacts to supply plans and proactively mitigate risk to customer service, inventory levels and cost.
  • Develop global inventory allocation strategies as needed, including production prioritization.
  • Responsible for backorder reporting, including root cause, mitigation, and team report out.
  • Define and monitor safety stock targets for assigned product portfolio. Includes calculation, proposals and maintenance of safety stock targets.
  • Provide accurate finished goods inventory availability dates to Commercial team.
  • Complete inventory analyses as needed, including tracking against targets, estimated depletion, and E&O risk.
  • Develop and execute inventory allocation planning to support global Regulatory build strategies.
  • Provide input for SKU rationalization, RECODE, and other lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Contribute to product phase-out such that obsolete inventory is minimized.
  • Develop and utilize complex spreadsheet analysis during issue resolution, scenario planning and financial analyses.
  • Query databases for information required for decision-making.
  • Provide insight and analyses to Business Unit leadership as needed in addition to supporting annual Business Planning process.
  • Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned


Required Qualifications:
  • Solid knowledge of key Supply Chain concepts (Demand/Supply/Production Planning, Capacity Leveling, PLM, Logistics and Inventory Control)
  • Experience in manufacturing environment coordinating multi-discipline activities
  • Proven ability to effectively engage with cross-functional organizations (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills needed to resolve conflicts impacting the business strategy
  • Advanced Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation
  • Demonstrated customer-centric focus and global orientation
  • Detail-oriented individual with a strong ability to multi-task


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management certification
  • Multi-year experience with planning systems, ERP systems experience required, Kinaxis system experience a plus.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Lean techniques and Six Sigma, experience
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, QlikView, Tableau, etc.)


Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Operations, or related degree; or MBA/MS in relevant discipline
  • 2-3+ years Supply Chain, planning and/or manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in ERP systems (i.e. JDE, SAP, Kinaxis etc.)
  • APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or IBF (CPF, ACPF) certification desired.
