Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy's Power Generation Division is seeking an experience leader to serve as the primary tactical leader for planning execution, translating business demand signals into actionable supply plans while driving forecast accuracy, inventory optimization, and cross-functional alignment. This position works closely with Operations, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, and Materials Management teams to manage planning risks, improve service levels, and ensure material readiness for both short-term and long-range business requirements.

Job Overview

Employees in this position supervise the materials management team to drive the fulfillment of material requirements in support of business needs. Individuals in this role are responsible for the effective acquisition, management, and delivery of materials, supplies, and services to achieve competitive power production objectives for a specific business unit or customer.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervises one or more Materials Management Specialists and other personnel associated with materials management functions
  • Coaches and directs the materials management team to drive down the total cost of ownership and increase business unit productivity
  • Acquires and manages materials and supplies for day-to-day and long-range requirements
  • Forecasts and plans projected materials requirements and manages the pipeline of assigned materials activity
  • Oversees and directs the development and execution of purchase orders
  • Oversees the management of the supplier base, developing new sources of supply and monitoring ongoing supplier performance
  • Increases efficiency by continually improving processes and procedures, driving standardization and eliminating waste
  • Provides leadership in the development of department personnel
  • Conducts business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal and environmental regulations
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
