GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To provide leadership and oversight to the Sourcing organization in support of manufactured products for Department of War programs. Responsible for providing strategic and operational direction to the Sourcing department. Lead efforts in process definition, execution, and compliance. Apply best practices in the workplace. Strive to make people better and be a positive influence in the development of others.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Leads the organization in management and development of the Sourcing function with the goal of improved service, efficient operations, and optimize working capital through purchasing, vendor management, and proposal responsiveness.
  • Focus on improving operating results, working capital utilization, profitability, and collaborating with all organization functions.
  • Ensure that Sourcing functions are aligned with overall company goals and strategies.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to achieve best outcomes for cost and delivery.
  • Manage risk relating to purchased materials, on time delivery, and associated costs.
  • Develop strategies for efficient Sourcing operations, optimize order quantities while managing material costs, and improve service to meet customer requirements.
  • Development of the supply chain team, including attracting, developing and retaining talent.
  • Management of a cross functional supply chain staff, consisting of electrical, chemical, hardware, metal, outsourced machining, and MRO Buyers.
  • Exhibits values of teamwork, integrity, accountability, and respect.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain to minimize price and delivery disruption.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers including favorable payment terms and conditions.

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

  • Advanced knowledge and application of MS Office Suite including Excel.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience with procurement or supply chain management required.
  • 10+ years of experience with procurement for a Department of War, Aviation, Automotive or Medical equipment manufacturer required.
  • Experience with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) procurement preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
