Mondays to Fridays, 5on 2off, 8 hours per day

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
• Lead and execute highly complex sourcing initiatives, including RFx processes for operational and capital requirements.
• Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Support and lead contract negotiations and commercial strategy execution in collaboration with Contracts and Legal.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with Neptune's policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.

Risk & Contract Management
• Identify and assess risks across the full procurement lifecycle and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations and resolve commercial or performance issues.

Supplier & Contractor Management
• Establish and manage supplier performance frameworks, including KPI development, scorecards, and audits.
• Lead supplier relationship management to drive performance, innovation, and value delivery.

Materials Management & Inventory Control
• Provide oversight of materials management function, including inventory, warehousing, and preservation practices.
• Lead demand planning and inventory optimization to balance service levels with working capital efficiency.
• Ensure materials availability supports operational and maintenance requirements.
• Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and obsolescence management.

Capital Equipment & Fleet Procurement
• Lead or support sourcing, negotiation, and execution of major fleet and capital equipment acquisitions.
• Ensure value optimization through lifecycle cost considerations and supplier evaluation.

Process Improvement & Governance
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance procurement and materials workflows, systems, and controls.
• Promote best practices in procurement, contract management, and inventory control.

Leadership & Financial Oversight
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to Procurement and Materials team members.
• Contribute to departmental budget planning, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
• Drive measurable cost savings, efficiency improvements, and value creation.
• Other ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

Supply Chain Management designation supplemented with a diploma in Business, Engineering, Finance or a combination of equivalencies.

Experience

10+ years in increasingly complex procurement environments in a heavy industrial setting.

Skills
• Extensive experience in capital projects procurement and major equipment sourcing.
• Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
• Advanced contracting, commercial strategy, and negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance and compliance frameworks.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
• Proven leadership capability with a strong focus on team performance and collaboration.
