Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Supply Chain Program Planner to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals within our Global Supply Chain organization. This role is located onsite in Baltimore, MD. The successful applicant will become a part of Advanced Mission Capabilities Business Unit within the Mission Systems Sector supporting the Advanced Systems and Restricted / Emerging Operating Units. This role functions as a material/supplier focused Program Manager with responsibilities ranging from material budgets to supplier management. You will be expected to manage supply chain activities from development to production while also tracking and forecasting material and labor budgets. This includes regular forecasting on program material expenditure, labor and overall schedule performance using Earned Value Management. As a Supply Chain Planner you are in charge of working with cross-functional teams to ensure suppliers execute in alignment with program schedule, engineering requirements and material budget.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures accurate and consistent Material Finance and forecasts on program and NCTA material
  • Responsible for working with other planners, engineers, and program representatives to forecast material costs.
  • Responsible for creating a material baseline and working with Business Management to meet monthly Earned Value requirements, variance reporting, and root cause and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for providing monthly Current Material Estimates at completions (CME's)
  • Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products
  • Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning
  • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
  • Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
  • Identify and manage program risks and opportunities as they pertain to material requirements.
  • Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs
  • Communicates with suppliers for lead times and delivery times. Actively works and communicates to resolve issues and identifies critical path mitigation plans.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of supply chain and/or business management (will consider 4+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree) or a Master's Degree and 0+ years of supply chain and/or business management
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial Background/Cost Account Manager (CAM) Certification
  • Experience in the use of SAP
  • Current Special Program Access (PAR)
  • Earned Value Management, Return to Green, Forecasting and Variance Analysis experience
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, financial systems, FAR, DFAR and ITAR
  • Active Secret Security Clearance


Primary Level Salary Range: $72,400.00 - $108,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
