Overview

The Supply Chain Optimization Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing strategic initiatives that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of the company's supply chain network. This role focuses on network optimization, inventory positioning, warehouse utilization, facility transitions, and operational improvement projects across the organization.

Working closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams, this individual will analyze opportunities, coordinate project activities, develop implementation plans, and support execution of initiatives designed to improve service, reduce costs, optimize inventory, and enhance operational performance.

The position requires strong analytical skills, project coordination capabilities, and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and locations. The successful candidate will support multiple concurrent initiatives while helping ensure smooth implementation and minimal disruption to operations and customer service.

This position requires frequent travel to manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and project locations to support implementation activities, facility optimization efforts, inventory transitions, stakeholder alignment, and operational improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

 

Network Optimization & Strategic Initiatives

  • Analyze supply chain network opportunities, including warehouse consolidations, distribution network redesigns, inventory repositioning, and transportation optimization initiatives.
  • Support development of business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and implementation plans for strategic supply chain projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement network improvement opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service levels, inventory efficiency, warehouse utilization, transportation performance, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to support network optimization recommendations.

 

Project Coordination & Implementation Support

  • Coordinate supply chain transition projects from planning through implementation and stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, action plans, and implementation schedules.
  • Support inventory transfers, facility transitions, warehouse changes, and network realignment activities.
  • Monitor project progress and track risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
  • Prepare project status updates, performance metrics, and executive reporting materials.
  • Support implementation activities to help minimize service disruptions, inventory exposure, and operational risk.

 

Inventory Optimization & Transition Planning

  • Develop inventory runout and phase-in/phase-out plans to support facility transitions, product migrations, and network optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with planning and inventory management teams to reduce excess and obsolete inventory exposure.
  • Monitor inventory performance throughout project execution to maintain customer service and operational continuity.
  • Coordinate inventory transfer activities and implementation readiness planning.
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend actions to improve inventory productivity and working capital performance.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Support

  • Coordinate project activities across Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams.
  • Facilitate project meetings, implementation reviews, and cross-functional planning sessions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, mitigation plans, and implementation readiness updates to stakeholders.
  • Support change management activities and implementation readiness efforts associated with network and facility changes.
  • Assist in developing training materials, implementation documentation, and communication plans as needed.

 

Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain project performance metrics and implementation scorecards.
  • Track project deliverables, timelines, savings, service performance, inventory results, and operational impacts.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process standardization, operational efficiency, and project execution effectiveness.
  • Assist in developing standard methodologies, tools, and templates for supply chain optimization and transition projects.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, operations, inventory management, or project coordination.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with inventory management, supply planning, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
  • Job requires travel of up to 50%

Preferred

  • Experience with supply chain network optimization, warehouse operations, inventory strategy, or logistics analysis.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting facility transitions, inventory migrations, or operational improvement projects.
  • Lean Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, PMP, or related professional certification.
  • Experience with ERP systems, planning platforms, and business intelligence tools.

The standard compensation for this role is $81,500 - $122,300. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors.

Compensation StatementThe expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience. Benefits StatementBenefits include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance.
