About the Opportunity

Zap Energy is searching for a Supply Chain Manager to lead fulfillment of all hardware required for a Nuclear Plant development. This person will develop a sourcing plan concurrently with plant and test stand development, identifying and actioning long-lead components in parallel with design finalization. They will be responsible for deploying a sourcing strategy that leverages vertical integration, strategic partnerships and proactive risk reduction measures to drive a hardware rich development cycle. This person is responsible for generating the data and executing the process required to drive a high cadence of reactor development.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the on-time delivery of hardware for nuclear power plant test stands and technology demonstrators.
  • Build and maintain a hardware rich development program for nuclear plant design.
  • Shorten the development cycle of nuclear technology design by reducing the engineering to stock lead time.
  • Develop a sourcing plan for every part contained in your assigned system.
  • Develop a long lead procurement list and drive a long lead purchasing strategy to shorten the development time of the Nuclear plant/test stand design.
  • Identify and implement lead time reduction measures to drive faster product development cadence.
  • Execute the sourcing process to support your assigned device/system.
  • Own vendor selection for critical components in the system.
  • Develop and maintain the master data necessary to manufacture and procure all of the hardware for your assigned nuclear device/system.
  • Identify and lead procurement of any Zap Energy owned capital equipment necessary to produce plant/test stand hardware.
  • Facilitate completion of non-disclosure, terms and conditions agreements with potential vendors.
  • Responsible and accountable for driving their assigned projects to operational test quickly. Responsible for the data, executing the process, and defining the integrated supply plan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, supply chain management or other technical field.
  • 5+ years in technical role at an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or manufacturing company. Technical roles include an engineer, technical project manager, scientist, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in a senior supply chain, business, manufacturing, quality role or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with New Product Introduction - experience in the different stages of the product development lifecycle, from program approval and architecture review to sustaining support and recurring production.
  • Demonstrated passion for Operations, Supply Chain, Quality or Manufacturing.

Preferred:

  • Formal Continuous Improvement experience preferred (Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Master of Business Administration preferred.


Employment may be conditioned upon the ability to obtain export authorization. Estimated salary range: $140,000-180,000 annually. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications. Range is published in accordance with Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
