Who will you be working with? In this position, the Supply Chain Manager will be a true business partner engaged with leadership across Sales, Service and Operations in support of our customer's needs. The successful candidate will be a key decision maker within the organization and help drive continuous improvement across the entire business. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a self-starter and willingness to make progress happen. How will you make a difference? As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for: This role is for a key leader within our organization tasked with making decisions that support our goals and strategic initiatives around safety, quality, delivery, innovation, and cost. What do we want to know about you? - Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited university or college, in Business Management, Operations, Engineering, or Technical Discipline - At least 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, or supply chain management position with an understanding of production and inventory control techniques and systems - Proven project management skills with the ability to work across functional boundaries and all levels of management. - Can demonstrate working execution of master scheduling, inventory management and ability to lead workforce in support of initiatives. - Strong team leadership, team building, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills - Strong oral and written communications skills Desired Characteristics: - Knowledge of production/inventory management and control systems. - Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes. - Understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing concepts and production schedules preferred. - Advanced problem-solving skills to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to details. - Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and lead. - Experience working with Oracle and Microsoft Office What will your typical day look like? - Manage rotating assets and finished goods inventories by establishing and monitoring kanbans and lead times based on manufacturing and supply chain capabilities and fluctuating market demands. - Manage internal ordering and lineside stocking of direct material for all production lines simultaneously. - Manage all shipping and receiving operations to align with plant targets and customer demands. - Maintain LEAN/5S principles across entire plant supply chain (Inventory Control, Material Planning, Asset Management, Purchasing, Material Handling and Shipping/Receiving) - Work with the fulfillment and planning teams to forecast and avoid part shortages affecting production, escalating issues, and communicating to the operations teams. - Meet customer schedules effectively through advanced planning and create ability to expedite shipments as required to meet deadlines. - Deliver on key metrics associated with inventory management including fulfillment, turns, cost drivers and physical auditing of on-hand inventory to ensure operational excellence through all phases. - Work with suppliers to identify new opportunities to improve our current processes as well as design and implement progressive management processes and systems based on Lean/Six Sigma for control, presentation, and replenishment of materials. - Mentor, develop and oversee a staff of salary and hourly employees covering responsibilities across the entire plant supply chain (Inventory Control, Material Planning, Asset Management, Purchasing, Material Handling and Shipping/Receiving). - Interact with Quality, Sourcing, Finance and Manufacturing to drive issue resolution. - Provide clear communication and technical materials guidance to management and other Wabtec employees daily. - Work as part of a cross functional team, driving a "one team" focus, dedicated to customer success within the shop. - Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, OSHA work practices, and industry/site-specific work rules. - Work with various MRP, quality, and MES software systems to meet daily requirements. - Take ownership of and lead projects for plantwide materials process improvement. You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
