Supply Chain Manager

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our 737 Supply Chain Program Integration team in Renton, Washington or Seattle, Washington. Split Shift:Monday – Friday – 10 am – 6:30 pm. Must be willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.)

As a supply chain integration manager for the China Zhoushan Delivery Center, you will be the primary interface between supply chain functional partners, suppliers, customers and Boeing program leaders. As s Supply Chain Manager, you will be a part of ensuring all deliveries go according to plan and free of parts and supplier issues. Be a part of our passionate and highly motivated team who will help grow and extend the Boeing footprint over in China. You will split time between working with Supplier Support second shift team and Zhoushan process management and integration of PA (Procurement Agent)/SCA (Supply Chain Analyst)/fulfillment/FAB(Fabrication)/GSTL (Transportation, Warehousing & Logistics) technical experts locally and in China for the Zhoushan site integration from the Puget Sound.

Our teams are currently hiring for (Level K) Supply Chain Manager.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in important meetings with Puget Sound/China for any supplier and parts issues related to Zhoushan Completion Center airplanes.
  • Interacts with executive/senior internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Supply chain / supplier process development and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain internal supply chain and supplier communication plans (internal and external).
  • Ensure regulatory requirements associated with procurement (including import / export) are worked in a timely manner.
  • Ensure supplier participation as part of the operating rhythm, as appropriate.
  • Develop Boeing and supplier metrics collaboratively and ensure jointly reviewed.

  • Maintain second issues standard operating procedures ensuring a process is place to expedite parts to support emergent needs.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Customer/Supplier Knowledge: Knowledge of customer's/supplier's organization, processes, policies and procedures, products, requirements, capabilities, practices, support resources.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Ability to apply manufacturing knowledge in support of supply chain management.
  • Procurement Processes: Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various procurement departments/disciplines.
  • Procurement Systems: Knowledge of the procurement process used at company sites in order to track procurement obligations such as, schedule compliance, quantity and past performance.
  • Supplier Tech Management: Knowledge of project and supplier techniques (e.g., design reviews, schedule reviews, production readiness) required for the management of the supplier's technical activities (e.g., design, development, test).
  • Capable of working effectively with supplier technical team in assessing product/system issues or designs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Supply Chain and/or Procurement practices and processes
  • 3+ years of experience demonstrating executive presence with exceptional written and oral communication skills; able to influence senior leaders, present complex technical/organizational matters clearly, and lead high-stakes discussions
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.)
  • Domestically and/or internationally on short notice

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree
  • 3+ year collaborating across organizations, times zones and cultures
  • 3+ years of experience managing external suppliers
  • 1+ years of experience managing parts internally (Fulfillment experience)
  • 1+ years of experience working in production environment
