Position Overview

The primary responsibility is to drive Distribution performance by leading Journey To Excellence initiatives, the CCI program and other key performance improvement programs. The incumbent will also perform daily tasks to collect, analyze and report on key performance indicators and provide insights/opportunities for improvement in support of the site mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Journey To Excellence Foundations: Lead programs to provide the foundation for employee engagement and routines for improved Distribution performance. Examples include Visual Factory, 5S, Loss Analysis. Responsible for strategic planning, change management, execution of activities and barrier removal

Performance Management: Support performance data management including, but not limited to, Labour Management System (LMS), DC capacity, scrap.
Create and maintain effective systems, reports and routines to promote actionable insights and faster decision making at all levels (ie. Daily Direction Setting (DDS), Key Performance Indicator (KPI) visualizations, weekly/monthly Distribution Performance Reviews). As required, support ad hoc requests for data collection and analysis to contribute to performance and cost improvements.

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Lead and coach cross-functional teams, to eliminate losses and build employee capability, using TPM methodologies. Responsible for project start-up, team management and engagement, project sustainability and alignment to business strategies. Participate as a member of NADC TPM Pillar(s) - driving loss intelligence, loss eradication (projects) and loss prevention (sustainable systems).

Comprehensive Continuous Improvement (CCI): Lead the Canada Distribution CCI program by supporting multiple projects contributing to the overall annual savings targets. Lead departmental/cross-functional brainstorming activities to ensure a pipeline of project ideas. Lead feasibility studies to provide cost/benefit justification for potential capital projects. Track CCI project progress in Laser reporting software and provide program updates to DC leadership.

Training & Development: Support the Training & Development Manager in creating and maintaining Distribution training documents including, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job aids and One Point Lessons (OPLs). Create/maintain systems to ensure training/recertification adherence within the Distribution team.

Required Qualifications

  • OSSGD or equivalent with post-secondary education in a related field
  • Minimum 1 year experience in statistical process control, project management and data analytics
  • Applicants must have experience designing and maintaining large datasets using MS Excel and have experience using one of the following database engines: MS SQL, Access, Oracle, SAP DB2 or MSDE.
  • Experience integrating data between multiple systems, including SAP and desktop applications is essential.
  • Must understand Distribution operations and metrics in order to supply relevant business context and data interpretation.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated starter and strong analytical skills.
  • Must be able to communicate complexity in simple, and concise, terms. There is frequent interaction with leadership on scorecard items and updates.
  • This position assists managers with data accumulation and evaluation
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively and cross functionally within all levels of the Americas Distribution
    network.
  • The candidate must exhibit exceptional PC software skills, including proficiency with MS Office Professional and SAP. Must have the capability to learn, and effectively use, new software systems quickly

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $59,310-$103,800

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
