Position Summary

Thales has a vacancy for a Supply Chain Engineer / Supply Chain Engineering Analyst who will conduct, contribute, assist, and monitor/report the preparation and implementation of material support requirements.  These tasks include parts, BOMs, and other items required to execute on material support, which the Engineer / Analyst optimizes for cost, efficiency, program requirements, and timing. 

Regulatory Compliance Requirement

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Coordinate LCMM Team, ILS specialists, Procurement staff, Ship Support, and the Customer as required to implement the required Material Support solutions, as defined by LCMMs. Support other team members in implementation and maintenance of their areas of Material Master data.  Interfaces with the Customer to ensure correct alignment of Master Data.
  • Process and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) entitlements for all storerooms. Implement Preventative Maintenance BOMs as received from ILS team/LSAR.  Coordinate materials definition and cataloguing to permit accurate and timely procurement of materials for Service Delivery, with lowest reasonable cost.
  • Lead and participate in department improvement projects. Responsible for accurate implementation of material logistics attributes (UoM, weight, certification, serialization, etc.). Report on material delivery metrics and Program KPIs, as defined.
  • Coordinate obsolescence replacement/Alternate Part Approval requests, as discovered. Support all other Supply Support team members with escalation requests. Analyze requested spares and spares quantities to support equipment, balancing requests between Customer, Thales Engineering, ILS, Procurement, and Technical Authorities or ship staff.
  • Support the LCMM team and Service Delivery in identifying the maintenance or spares required to support defined Maintenance Work. Support Engineering personnel with the development of Engineering Change proposals as they pertain to materials and material management. Support the Program stakeholders by addressing material queries in a timely manner.
  • Provide second-level support to Procurement and Warehouse staff regarding materials sourcing and definition. Participate in regular team meetings, advising on material status, and recommending remedial action for any potential issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An Engineering degree or Technologist diploma in mechanical, electrical, electronic, industrial, reliability or naval engineering.
  • Five years or more experience conducting Logistics Support Analysis in maintenance and supply support of complex systems or equipment.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel.
  • Language: English (Essential), French (Desirable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) methods and implementation.
  • Previous experience working with application software such as SAP, Maximo, OmegaPS, and DRMIS will be considered an asset.
  • Background in naval systems and equipment is desirable.
  • Experience supporting an operational military asset.
  • Experience developing Integrated Logistics Support Plans, Processes or Procedures.
  • Experience identifying and addressing Logistics Support Analysis deficiencies regarding Supply Support.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week.
  • Physical Environment: Hybrid position – which is a mix of working from home and onsite (in office, at customer site or on-board ships alongside in harbour) .
  • Travel: Occasional domestic travel maybe required in support of the ships.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is $80,000 to 115,000 CAD Annual​. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
