Supply Chain Director, OSE
Location: Skokie, IL or Southfield, MI

Summary

The Supply Chain Director, Office of Strategic Execution (OSE), is responsible for leading strategic supply chain initiatives that support enterprise transformation programs, including site consolidations, operational transitions, and network optimization efforts. This role oversees end-to-end supply chain planning and execution to ensure alignment between customer demand, operational capacity, inventory optimization, and financial objectives.

The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with commercial, product, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, and finance teams to successfully execute complex initiatives while ensuring business continuity during periods of change. This role also supports confidential workforce ramp-up and ramp-down planning activities and requires a high level of professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all phases of the SIOP/S&OE process for the business line, including demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory optimization, and demand/supply balancing activities
  • Lead the end-to-end orchestration of supply chain automation initiatives, from ideation and business case development through pilot, scaling, and full deployment, ensuring measurable ROI and operational impact
  • Develop and execute a multi-year digital supply chain roadmap, aligning automation, analytics, and system capabilities with enterprise transformation goals and operational priorities
  • Drive the design and implementation of smart warehousing solutions, including warehouse automation technologies (e.g., robotics, AS/RS, vision systems, and autonomous material handling) to improve throughput, accuracy, and labor productivity
  • Partner with IT, engineering, and operations teams to evaluate, select, and deploy emerging supply chain technologies, ensuring seamless integration with ERP (SAP) and planning systems
  • Lead cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into digital and automation solutions, ensuring alignment between process design, technology capabilities, and user adoption
  • Build and maintain digital maturity models and capability roadmaps for supply chain functions, identifying gaps and sequencing initiatives to advance toward a smart, connected supply chain
  • Oversee the integration of Industry 4.0 principles across warehousing and distribution networks, including IoT-enabled tracking, real-time monitoring, and predictive insights
  • Ensure robust change management and training strategies are in place to support adoption of automation and digital tools across operations and supply chain teams
  • Lead cross-functional demand consensus, supply balancing, and reconciliation meetings to identify risks, gaps, and mitigation plans
  • Evaluate financial impacts, risks, opportunities, and trade-off decisions related to balancing demand and supply requirements
  • Lead efforts across supply planning, purchasing, and external suppliers to implement effective replenishment methodologies and improve supply chain agility
  • Partner with commercial and operational teams to support customer agreements and strategic initiatives while balancing service and supply chain efficiencies
  • Manage program timelines, risks, metrics, reporting, and stakeholder communication for strategic supply chain initiatives

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, purchasing, manufacturing, project management, or related functions
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing direct and/or cross-functional teams
  • Strong experience with SIOP/S&OE, supply planning, inventory management, and operational execution
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale operational or supply chain transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI experience preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, changing environments and manage through ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting site consolidations, transfers, closures, or network optimization initiatives
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred
  • ASCM/CPIM certification preferred
  • Consumer Goods, Electronics, Automotive Aftermarket, or industrial manufacturing experience preferred

50% - 60% travel as needed to support operational and strategic execution initiatives
