Full Job Description
Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of Supply Chain Director at the Shawnee, KS location. This position will own end-to-end execution across customer supply planning, ERP/SAP By Design, warehouse and logistics operations. This role sits on the Shawnee site leadership team and is accountable for stabilizing and transforming supply chain performance in a complex CDMO environment, driving operational control, customer delivery confidence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Innovation - Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead the transformation of Shawnee supply chain processes in a data driven environment
  • Own SAP By Design optimization for the site - driving data integrity, process standardization and system discipline across the supply chain team
  • Drive SIOP process maturity; ensure planning cycles reflect the right balance of customer demand, site capacity and supply reality
  • Own and develop the site capacity model - providing leadership with an accurate, up-to-date view of site capacity to support order acceptance, new work approval decisions and right-sizing of teams to overall demand
  • Build and maintain supply chain dashboards and KPIs
  • Identify and implement digital tools and automation that improve supply chain visibility, accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Build a continuous improvement culture - structured problem-solving, measurable outcomes and year-on-year performance uplift
  • Own all on-site supply chain SOPs and policies; maintain and update in partnership with Quality and other relevant functions


Supply Risk & Sourcing Strategy
  • Own sourcing strategy for critical raw materials - identifying requirements, evaluating supply options and executing procurement; leverage the Shawnee Procurement function for negotiation support where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain supply risk strategies for critical inputs - ensuring appropriate safety stock positions, multi-vendor options and distributed storage where warranted; eliminating over-reliance on any single vendor, location or storage strategy
  • Directly accountable for reducing total inventory on hand - driving right-sized safety stock positions, correcting ERP-driven distortions and eliminating excess and obsolete stock
  • Monitor supply market conditions continuously; translate risk signals into sourcing and stocking decisions before disruption occurs
  • Own the operational response to major supply issues - escalating and resolving with urgency


Site Operations & Logistics
  • Oversee all site warehousing and distribution operations - including cold chain, controlled substances (DEA scheduled), USDA/APHIS-licensed biologics, clinical and commercial finished goods distribution, and GDP-compliant logistics - ensuring full regulatory compliance across inbound, on-site and outbound supply chain activities
  • Maintain full lot traceability, quarantine management and documentation integrity across the warehouse and distribution function, in close partnership with Quality
  • Manage 3PL relationships for Shawnee - holding providers accountable to service, cost and compliance standards
  • Build and maintain the site production schedule in close partnership with Manufacturing - ensuring supply chain inputs, material


About you:

  • Relevant experience and qualification in supply chain, logistics, business, science or a related field; post-graduate qualification an advantage
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in supply chain, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role
  • Experience must be within a CDMO environment - human health or animal health
  • Proven senior supply chain leadership experience within a CDMO - human health or animal health manufacturing; candidates without direct CDMO operating experience will not progress regardless of broader pharmaceutical background
  • Deep working knowledge of ERP systems in a GMP manufacturing context; hands-on SAP experience (By Design or equivalent) with a demonstrable track record of driving system optimization and data discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to own and mature SIOP/S&OP processes in a complex, multi-product manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience managing customer relationships in a CDMO context
  • Proven track record of leading teams and functions through significant change - operating model redesign, system transformation or process overhaul in a live manufacturing environment
  • Track record of building, developing and where necessary reshaping high-performing teams; willing to make difficult talent decisions and hold the bar high
