Position Summary

Under direct supervision, the Supply Chain Buyer supports purchasing, material planning, and logistics activities to ensure uninterrupted production. The role is primarily responsible for purchase order execution, supplier management, material availability, and ERP accuracy, while also coordinating logistics for purchased materials.

The position works closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Finance, Warehouse, suppliers, freight forwarders, and global supply chain teams. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong ownership, follow-through, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve supply and logistics issues.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Material Management

• Execute and manage purchase orders with domestic and international suppliers based on demand, MRP requirements, and production schedules.
• Monitor supplier commitments, delivery dates, open orders, and on-time delivery performance in the ERP system.
• Maintain accurate purchasing master data, including supplier information, lead times, and pricing.
• Communicate with suppliers on delivery commitments, shortages, expedites, and supply issues.
• Track PPV, validate pricing against approved quotes/contracts, and support cost-control initiatives.
• Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Finance, and Accounts Payable to resolve material, pricing, invoice, and receiving issues.

Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate transportation of purchased materials with freight forwarders and logistics providers.
• Track inbound and outbound shipments and proactively address delays, delivery risks, and transportation issues.
• Obtain and review freight quotations, coordinate shipment routing/allocation, and verify freight invoices against agreed rates.
• Coordinate quarter-end shipments and expedite critical or time-sensitive deliveries.
• Maintain visibility of in-transit inventory and provide timely status updates to internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to resolve customs, receiving, and delivery issues.

Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration

• Flexibility to support global supply chain operations outside of standard business hours is an important requirement of this position.

• Participate in supply chain meetings and provide updates on purchase orders, material availability, supplier commitments, and logistics.
• Work with global supply chain teams and suppliers across multiple time zones to support material availability and shipment execution.
• Escalate critical supply, supplier, or logistics risks in a timely manner.
• Support process improvements related to purchasing efficiency, supplier performance, logistics execution, and lead-time reduction.
• Ensure procurement and logistics activities comply with company policies and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, materials, or supply chain operations, preferably in technology, electronics, or manufacturing.
• Experience managing purchase orders, suppliers, material availability, and delivery commitments.
• Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, or logistics providers strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of MRP, waterfall analysis, and RYG reporting in an EMS/electronics manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with electronic components and BOMs preferred.
• Experience with international suppliers and shipments is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and proactively resolve issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• ERP experience required; Oracle experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Mandarin-speaking ability is a plus.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Associate degree with relevant purchasing/logistics experience may also be considered.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in purchasing, materials, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $50,000.00 - $130,000.00 Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
