Software Supplier Quality Manager's own and manage key engineering statements of work (eSOW) that identify critical deliverables which are measured throughout the software development lifecycle, from pre-sourcing evaluations through post-sourcing execution. The supplier manager collaborates with purchasing, Design and Release Engineers (D&R), and Engineering teams to ensure process compliance, work-product traceability, and on-time delivery; this role plays a critical part in optimizing supply chain performance, managing risk, and driving cost efficiencies across the organization.

Responsibilities

Process Ownership and Governance
  • Create, maintain and communicate Supplier Management Processes and eSOW to all relevant Stakeholders, including D&R community.
  • Determine eSOW applicability for ECUs based on sourcing and program scope and ensure compliance throughout the software development lifecycle.

Pre-Sourcing and Supplier Support
  • Support D&R Engineers and Purchasing Teams during supplier evaluations and sourcing decisions.

Process Spot Checks, Audits and Assessments
  • Conduct targeted spot checks on supplier processes to ensure quality assurance.
    • Target areas include, but are not limited to: project management, configuration management, change management, requirements, traceability, and code quality.
  • Identify, document, communicate non-conformances.
  • Work with supplier to plan, monitor and track closure actions and ensure alignment with committed timelines.
  • Conduct supplier assessments aligned with supplier agreements. For example, ASPICE assessments per engineering statement of work.

Compliance Tracking and Reporting
  • Develop and manage real-time dashboards for program-level compliance visibility, including assessment results and supplier quality score in order to facilitate making data-driven decisions during sourcing.

Risk Management and Escalations
  • Proactively identify risks and escalate issues. Example scenarios:
    • Supplier deliverables are missed or delayed.
    • Formal assessments are not executed as planned.
    • Assessment scope is changed without prior agreement.
    • Identified process gaps remain unresolved beyond the agreed timeline.


Qualifications

You will have...
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, electrical engineering or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the position offered OR 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance including development and roll out of processes and methods for software development
  • 3 years of experience in embedded software development, requirements development, integration and test, OR performing software project management and driving software quality improvements
  • 2 years of experience working with Tier 1 suppliers to deliver high-quality software.
  • Collaborative, customer-focused mindset to drive the right outcomes for our customers (internal and external).
  • Ability to effectively manage cross-team capabilities and contribute to your peers' success.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices, including experience with Jira work management.
  • Clear communication style both laterally to business partners as well as upwards to management.
